Jeremy Year: 1973 Some controversy was caused by the nude sex scene between Robby Benson and Glynnis O'Connor, who were both 16 years old and thus minors at the time of filming. The scene, filmed by Joseph Brooks before Arthur Barron replaced him as director, was recalled by Benson in his autobiography 'I'm Not Dead... Yet!'. "The day we shot the scene, Brooks said, 'Okay- time to get undressed.' I was still remarkably shy, even after my 'singing lessons.' We both took off our clothes and stared at each other, scared, in our underwear. 'You're in your underwear!' Brooks barked. 'I said take off your clothes! It's a nude scene. You're making love for the first time!' There were no social workers on the set, no parents, no SAG rules or representatives- no supervision of minors whatsoever. To be a child working in NewYork at that time, all they needed was a permit from City Hall. I called home. My mom and dad conferred and decided 'if I was okay with it, they were too.' They really did trust me. Unfortunately, they also trusted Joe Brooks and the people making this film. So, off came the underwear. It was... traumatic. I tried to use my body to shield Glynnis from the eyes of all the set's lookie-loos. Suddenly Joe Brooks yelled 'Cut!' during our naked onscreen kiss. Che? Year: 1972 In 2017 Renate Langer accused Roman Polanski of raping her in 1972, when she was 15, just before and during the filming of this movie. Langer said she met Polanski when she worked for a modeling agency, and he was interested in casting her in a movie. When she visited him in the Swiss village Gstaad, she said he had sex with her in his home, despite her protests. About a month later, Langer told the Times, he called to apologize and offered her a small role in his 1972 movie 'Che?' (where she has a nude scene). Rivals Year: 1972 In her blog, Jeanne Tanzy Williams talked about her nude scene: "In my role as Mary the babysitter I had a topless scene with young Scott Jacoby. It was quite an innocent scene between two young kids discovering the excitement and sexuality of their little bodies. The day of the shoot for that scene I was very scarred. So much so that on the first take when I had to drop my dress and take off my tiny trainers bra, I fainted dead on the floor. It was, of course, a closed set, meaning no one but actively needed crew would be there.
