Behind the scenes

In 1981 you went to New York alone at the age of 16. How unusual was that?
Nosbusch: "That was completely difficult, but I saw no alternative. I had a difficult time, was in a self-discovery crisis. Once fired at 16. (laughs) My parents were a bit overwhelmed with me and the situation. At that time, I was shooting 'Nach Mitternacht', a movie in which I had a nude scene that was discussed in the 'Bravo' with a raised forefinger. Then I lost my jobs, because I was from the view of the ZDF at the time a problem for the youth. I had to leave school because you could not do anything with 'uncomfortable' people like me. Then I saw 'Fame' in the cinema and thought New York is my chance. "
