In an Oct 30, 2020 interview on the "Let's Talk Jaws!" YouTube page, at 20:00, actor David Elliott discusses the controversial scene at the end of the movie at the beach house. He said that working on the movie cost him thousands of Dollars in therapy. He says the whole table scene was not in the original script when he accepted the part of Peter Benson in the movie. He said most of the movie was shot, and then during the last two weeks of shooting they went out to Amagansett, Long Island to a house and the script was rewritten to include the scene requiring him to strip and dance naked on a table and walk naked to the sliding glass door. He says that his mother, who was supposed to be his guardian, was like "sure, fine, whatever." when asked about giving permission for him to film the scene with the revisions.
